Current Announcements – February 11, 2024

Please come to our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on Feb. 13 from 5-7PM followed by an Ash Wednesday Eve service in the church at 7PM. Enjoy delicious freshly made hot fluffy pancakes, sausages, egg dishes, fruit, and beverages. Kindly sign the posted sheet in the Narthex so that we know how many guests to prepare for. Bring your relatives, friends, and neighbors. See you there!

Please plan to come see the production of The Wizard of Oz, starring Rev. Barbara as the Wizard, Molly Donaruma as Dorothy(March 1 and 2 performances only) and Eileen Donaruma as a Farmer Munchkin. There will be 4 performances in the church: Thursday, Feb. 29 at 7PM, Friday, March 1 at 7PM, Saturday, March 2 at 7PM, and Sunday, March 3 at 2PM.   Call the office to make reservations.

Congratulations to Mary Ames who received the Alan Swain Volunteer of the Year Award for 2023! The award was presented at the Annual Meeting. She is pictured above with Sr. Warden Paul Coyle. Thank you Mary!

Rev. Barbara was honored at the Annual Meeting with cards from the Sunday School kids, a Nantucket Bracelet from the Vestry, and a cake. Lobo received a bag of goodies for his boundless energy and “formidable” presence in the office. Thank you Rev. Barbara and Lobo, we shall miss you both!

Thank you to all who attended the Annual Meeting on February 4th.  The Vestry now includes: Paul Coyle, Sr. Warden, Ann Geary Roche, Jr. Warden, Celia Bailey-Ochoa, Treasurer, Deb Roberts, Clerk, and Members:  Sandy Scannell, Kathy Uggerholt, Mary Ames, Greg Roche, Jeff Cuilty, Lillian Woo.  Diocesan Convention Delegates: Alan Miller and Jared Cohen; Deanery Delegate: Kathy Uggerholt.

Thank you to Vestry Members Susan Coutinho and Alan Miller who have stepped down from the Vestry. And thank you to Jared Cohen who has served as Treasurer for many years.

As the 2024 Bishops’ Annual Appeal launches, the bishops invite everyone to join in deepening covenants formed as the Diocese of Massachusetts: A goal of $200,000 has been set for the 2024 appeal, in support of shared mission as a diocesan community committed to being disciples of Jesus, seekers of justice and protectors of creation. More information to follow shortly.
