St. John’s Episcopal Church Sandwich Financial Summary For the Eight Months Ended August 31, 2024

Net Operating Surplus/(Deficit) at the end of August was ($40,797) compared to a budgeted deficit of ($42,789).  The $1,992 favorable budget variance results from higher Pledge and Miscellaneous revenue than planned year-to-date (YTD) that is currently offsetting other unfavorable revenue variances and a $908 net unfavorable expense variance.  Expenditures are being closely monitored.

Space Use revenue is $1,958 less than planned primarily due to timing of the #161 Main Street renovation, and Fundraising revenue is $2,873 less than planned YTD . . . and we have goals to raise $23,000 more by the end of the year!  The Thrift Shop continues to achieve results that are higher than budgeted.  A successful July 4 Pancake Breakfast, along with the Summer Breeze Concert Series which brought in $3,000, greatly contributed to fundraising goals. Many thanks go out to all those who donated their time and treasure to make the Concert Series a success – special thanks go out to Deb Roberts, our fearless leader in this endeavor!              Celia Bailey-Ochoa,  Treasurer
