From Phylis Helfrich:  Many thanks to all the members of St. John’s for the lovely Coffee Hour celebration of my 90th birthday last Sunday.   Thank you to those who prepared it; thank you to the choir for the beautiful flowers which graced the altar.  It was truly a special day and I appreciate your love and thoughtfulness.

Hour of Prayer: The church is open for your quiet prayers weekly, on Wednesdays, from 12-1pm.

Sunday School: resumes this weekend. Final day of Sunday School will be on June 7th.

Caring for Creation Committee: Meeting Fridays at 11:00 AM Zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86013659293. Thank you Steve Tom and the C4C committee for providing an exceptionally well-attended and informative presentation by Krill Carson on Tuesday, May 26 about “The Magic of Saltmarshes on Cape Cod”.  The next presentation in the series will be on June 23rd by our parishioner Claire Desilets “It’s all about the bees”.  Please plan to join us!

Enhance the beauty of worship:  there are many open dates for altar arrangements on the calendar in the Narthex.  Suggested donation is $50. Thank you to all who have provided lovely arrangements so far this year! Floral bouquets are obtained from Stop & Shop, Tupper Road, Sandwich. Additionally, all parishioners are welcome to bring flowers from your garden.  We have vases available for your use.   Please bring your flowers to Fr. Al.  He will place them for you.

St. John’s Annual Pancake Breakfast: Saturday, July 4th in advance of the town parade. We will need many volunteers to help with set up on Friday, cooking, serving and clean-up on Saturday, for this event. Sign-up sheets can be found in the Narthex. For questions, please contact Deb Roberts.

The “Kick Off to Summer Raffle” is a benefit for the church with numerous prizes including a gas grille, picnic supplies, gift cards and certificates and more.  Tickets are $5 each, 3 for $10 and can be obtained from the office, Thrift Shop, and after weekend services.  For questions, contact Diana or Jim Stanley or the Parish Office.

St. John’s Summer Concert Series: kicks off July 11th under the tent behind the 161 building. Admission is free, food is available for purchase, bring a comfy beach chair and your friends and family, and enjoy an evening of great music! Additional dates, July 25, August 15, and August 29.  We will need extra hands to help with set-up and clean-up, greeting, cooking, raffle sales, and kitchen staff.  Sign-up sheets will be available shortly.
