Announcements – July 5th & 6th

Announcements

A huge THANK YOU to all of our volunteers who helped set up, prepare, serve, clean up and otherwise assist with our annual Pancake Breakfast.  It takes a small army of volunteers to pull this off every year and we are abundantly fortunate to have so many parishioners and families who are willing to help.  Thanks to all who participated in the town’s July 4th parade too!

This weekend is your last chance to get “Kick Off to Summer Raffle” tickets, to benefit the church.  Take a chance on numerous prizes including a gas grille, picnic supplies, gift cards and certificates and more.  Tickets are $5 each, 3 for $10 and can be obtained after weekend services.  For questions, contact Diana or Jim Stanley or the Parish Office.

St. John’s Summer Concert Series: begins next Saturday, July 11th under the tent behind the 161 building. Admission is free, food is available for purchase, bring a comfy beach chair and your friends and family, and enjoy an evening of great music! Additional dates, July 25, August 15, and August 29.  We will need extra hands to help with set-up and clean-up, greeting, cooking, raffle sales, and kitchen staff.  Sign-up sheets will be available shortly.

Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival: July 10-19, 2026. Get the latest information at capecodhydrangeafest.com. Participating from St. John’s are Mary and Arnold Howe’s garden at 1124 Old Stage Road, Centerville on Friday July 10 and Saturday, July 11 from 9am to 1pm both days, and all mornings for the remainder of the week.

Also from St. John’s is the “woodland” theme at 7 Jeanne’s Way, Forestdale, home of Phyllis and Don Helfrich, on Saturday, July 11th and Friday, July 17 from 10:30am-3pm both days. Phyllis and Don have 40 – count ’em – bushes! Proceeds from these weekend garden visits benefit St. John’s.

Plan to come to Heritage Museums and Gardens on July 9, from 6pm-7:30pm for the pre-party and view the grounds. St.  John’s will have a table to greet visitors and publicize the garden tours and church activities.   Admission is $10 and you must pre-register with the festival.

Hour of Prayer: The church is open for your quiet prayers weekly, on Wednesdays, from 12-1pm.

Common Threads: meets monthly on the second Wednesday, that’s July 8th this month.  Feel free to join us in the Parish Hall from 1pm on as we work on various projects to benefit veterans, hospice and nursing home residents, newly baptized, wedding couples and more. No experience necessary!

Vestry: meets on Tuesday, July 14 at 6:30pm in person.

Caring for Creation Committee: Meeting Fridays at 11:00 AM Zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86013659293.

The bulletin Prayer List is periodically edited.  If you would like prayers for yourself or someone else, kindly call the office Tuesdays through Fridays, 9am-2pm, 508-888-2828.

SCAM ALERT! In the past week we have received 2 emails requesting copies of the Parish Directory which were SCAM requests. Please carefully check the sender’s address if you have any suspicions about emails pretending to be from a church staff member or another parishioner. ________________________________________________________________________________________________July 4 – 12, 2026
