CANDY NEEDED: Thank you to everyone who has donated candy for Halloween on Main Street. We can use more! We, and the children of Sandwich, appreciate your generosity.
FAMILY PHOTOS WANTED: Bring photos of loved ones for the altar for All Saints’ Day. You can leave them in the office, or Narthex by Wednesday, October 28th please.
HALLOWEEN: In the interest of safety for parishioners and kids, worship will be celebrated at 3pm on October 31st. You are invited to come in costume and stay to help hand out candy to the throngs of kids who Trick or Treat. Note: no Halloween party at the church this year – stay tuned for a celebration in early 2027.
OUTREACH QUESTIONNAIRE: St. John’s Outreach Committee is asking you to complete the questionnaire which is on the table in the Narthex. You can drop it in the collection plate, or leave it in the basket in the Narthex. We can email a copy for you to complete and return by mail or email. Thank you!
CHRISTMAS FAIR BAKE SALE: Bakers needed! Melissa Abbott reminds you that baked goods can be frozen ahead of time for the Fair. Let’s get a head start on stocking up for the bake sale. Donations can be delivered to the office during business hours.

JOIN US! Tuesday, October 27 from 7-8:30pm in the Parish Hall for the latest Caring for Creation series presentation by Dr. Katherine “Katie” Ghantous, of the UMASS Amherst Cranberry Station, who will explore the rich history of Massachusetts cranberries, horticultural practices used, and challenges facing cranberry growers. A question and answer session will be included. Caring for Creation programs are free, open to the public, light refreshments are served, and all are welcome. Bring a friend or two to this informative, and relevant presentation!
ALTAR FLORALS: If you would like to remember someone with an altar arrangement, kindly sign the chart in the Narthex, or call the office during business hours. Thank you to everyone who has contributed. There are 3 open weekends for the remainder of the year.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO SERVE AS LAY EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: St. John’s needs additional LEM’s to serve at both Saturday 5 PM and Sunday 9:30 AM services. We have only two sharing the Saturday service, and currently 3 sharing Sunday, which will decrease to 2 after January 1. This is not sufficient, when one includes vacations and unexpected absences for illness, accidents, etc. We need to double this number. If you feel called to volunteer for this ministry, email Charlie Diana at charles77d@comcast.net.
BUILDINGS & GROUNDS CREW: Currently there are 3 steadfast volunteers who maintain our buildings and grounds. This ministry could use a few additional volunteers to help share the weekly cleaning and maintenance of our facilities. No experience is necessary and we appreciate whatever time you can offer. Please prayerfully consider how you might offer your time and talents to this ministry. Contact Fr. Al, Alan Carlson, or call the office during business hours.
