Worship In-Person
There are two types of liturgies in the Episcopal Church, Rite I and Rite II. Both Rite I and Rite II services are Eucharistic services and stem from the adoption of the new Book of Common Prayer in 1979.
Holy Eucharist Rite II
This service is a Rite II liturgy with Holy Eucharist, but without music accompaniment. Rite II is a more modern service, with updated language and more options for prayers, including several for the Prayers of the People and the Prayer of Consecration. There is a healing service on the last Saturday of the month.Holy Rite II Choral Eucharist
This service is a Rite II liturgy with Holy Eucharist. Rite II is a more modern service, with updated language and more options for prayers, including several for the Prayers of the People and the Prayer of Consecration. The pipe organ and piano are played, and hymns and service music are sung by the congregation. St. John’s Choir takes the summer off and will return in the Fall. During the summer months, various members of the congregation offer their musical talents as soloists. Following this service we offer fellowship and refreshments.
Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Matthew 11: 28-30
